The Young-owned Village Witch finished second in the Inter Dominion consolation for former Young horseman Jason Grimson.
The only mare in the series, Village Witch just missed out on a place in the pacers final and then only went down to Ellmers Image by a neck in the $50,000 feature.
Alchin then finished last in the Inter Dominion trotters final after Tough Monarch was given another tough run.
Moving around to race outside eventual winner Tornado Valley after being shuffled back early, Tough Monarch tired to finish almost 30 metres away.
