The Farrer League has been exploring the option of playing the neighbouring competition, making a second rep derby in two years after the Farrer League went down to Riverina early this year.
The proposed Farrer fixture has been discussed by Hume League clubs. The league says the game is ‘on the table’ but hasn’t been ratified by the board at this stage as discussions continue about the schedule.
The original suggestion is for senior and under 17 football and netball games as well as a potential junior rep game between the Hume League and a Wagga and District Juniors team.
It’s hoped the game could be finalised by Christmas.
The Hume League’s representative schedule has primarily been against Tallangatta League in recent years, however they did play Riverina in 2016, causing a massive boilover at Robertson Oval.

Aiken said he expects the Hume League to be very strong and Farrer League president David Oehm agrees, anticipating his side would go in as underdogs.
