Specialist Medical Resources Foundation manager and Angela Boutlon said they were so disappointed they had to cancel.
“We’ve held off on a decision until the last possible moment,” Ms Boutlon said.
“We start on Wednesday at 5pm and work through the night and we held off on Wednesday and just set up tomorrow and there is no way we’ll get set up with that rain.
“Electricity and water don’t work together.”
Light the Night is the second biggest fundraiser for the SMRF, after Life in the Spotlight.
“We might move into February or March and do a kids thing and something fun,” she said.
“We do know kids look forward to it as well and the people who were going to do our characters are devastated as well.”
The 2017 event saw just under 1500 people turn out for an evening of fairy dust and fan-favourite Disney tunes.
The festive fundraiser is organised by the Specialist Medical Resources Foundation, which helps Riverina families buy medical equipment for their children.
