Though the girls’ side missed out in their semi final appearance in Blacktown over the weekend, coach Terry Williams was thrilled to see the side clinch a medal in their third-place playoff.
“We lost our first game 6-2 against (Sydney side) Harbord PS who went on to win the knockout comp and then won against (Northern NSW side) Kootingal PS 18-2,” Williams said.
“Our girls had the nervous jitters in our first game and just couldn’t shake them off to bat as strongly as they have all year … but never mind!
“We finished 3rd in NSW – fairly brilliant result for a largely non-softball player team.”
