Winless coming into the game, Western Sydney were kept alive by Whyman, who made three brilliant saves in the opening half.
However, things started to go south when Whyman injured her knee in the 52nd minute.
Canberra’s Ellie Carpenter took advantage of Whyman’s absence to controversially score while the goalkeeper was assisted by Wanderers team mates.

Whyman played on after her injury, making another save and helping her side to a 2-all draw despite conceding an unlucky own goal with 10 minute remaining.
