Wagga’s Tristan James Lee, 30, was charged with the man’s murder in May 2017, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter this June.
Lee was brought from the Junee Correctional Centre to Wagga District Court on Friday for a sentencing hearing that was expected to last a whole day.
However, when he arrived, defence solicitor Emily Winbourne informed the court the hearing could not go ahead due to a factual dispute.
“The facts were largely settled at committal, however, there was a request for us to have one line amended, and we’re still waiting on that,” she said.
Lee was taken back to the Junee Correctional Centre and will now have to wait until February 21 to learn his fate.
The maximum penalty for manslaughter is 25 years’ jail.
