At about 1:30 on Friday morning, crews attached to Turvey Park Fire Station were called to extinguish the Davies Place property.
Having been boarded up prior to the fire, it is believed the house has not seen tenants for some time.
It was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Extinguishing the premise within half-an-hour, firefighters remained on site to control any concealed hotspots or remaining embers.
With a partially collapsed roof, the building currently stands 50 per cent destroyed.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but a spokesperson for the fire department described the scene as ‘suspicious’.
Police are continuing the investigation and have remained at the site this morning.
This latest event represents at least the third fire in Tolland over the past week.
Earlier this week, a deliberately ignited bin fire in the stairwell of a Bruce Street apartment block forced residents to climb balconies to evade.
