Jim Weedon, a conductor and volunteer member of the Wagga Society of Model Engineers, said the damages occurred on parts of the track, around the tunnel, natural rocks and murals by local artist Kyle Pearson.
“It’s just very frustrating because we’re just volunteers and we spend many hours up there to help the public ride trains,” Mr Weedon said.
“There’s damage done to the entrance and exit of the tunnel.
“It will be a lot harder to clean the graffiti done to the rocks because it soaks into them.”
Mr Weedon said this was the third incident in the past year.
“It happened before to the doors to our club rooms and engine storage area,” he said.
“We’ll get Kyle to come and repaint the murals, but being $2 a ride, it will take a bit to earn enough to pay for the repairs.”
The society has reported the latest incident to Wagga Police.
Anyone with further information is urged to contact Wagga Police on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
