All dolled up and ready for the festive season, some of Wagga’s senior citizens were taken out to dinner. South Wagga Apex’s Josh Paul said they hosted their Christmas dinner on Wednesday evening taking elderly residents out for dinner.

“It is one of our members’ favourite services schemes for the year as the joy it gives guests is really nice to see,” he said.
“It’s for those who get Meals on Wheels throughout the year and it is a chance for us to give some Christmas cheer.
“They tell us stories and we have a great time.”
With 65 residents being treated to a night out with 12 members to make sure they have fun, Mr Paul said it would be a tradition carried on.
“It’s embedded into South Wagga Apex culture and our guests would want it to continue as well.”
Joan Elkins said she has attended last year’s event and was excited for the night.
“The boys are good to us and they wait on us hand and foot,” she said.
“It’s great because it gives me a chance to go out.”
