For the second time this season, Bolton has reached triple figures but this time it was part of an important victory for his side.
Set 118 for victory, the Colts cruised past Wagga RSL’s total without the loss of a wicket at Wagga Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Bolton made 110 while Daniel Perri picked up 52 to ensure a valuable six points for their side.
Captain Keenan Hanigan was thrilled with the effort.
“It was a big confidence boost not just for the boys who got the runs but for the team,” Hanigan said.
“They are the game you want to win in two-day cricket with the six points.
“Dave Bolton is in really good form this year, and has proved that as leading runscorer, and Dan Perri just done his job.”
Chasing fast runs, the Colts declared at 5-209 before sending in the Bulldogs.
They struck early as Macgregor Hanigan removed Beau Wright (1) before Todd Henderson (37 not out) and Ethan Perry (nine not out) saw RSL out of any danger of an outright loss.
Colts are now six points clear of St Michaels with three matches to play before the Christmas break.
Hanigan is pleased with how the side responded after three losses in their past four games.
“We made a good point before the game saying we need to win these games against teams around us on the ladder and we jump St Michaels now are in the four, which is a little boost for us to take into the following weeks,” he said.
