In Wagga, the latest seven-day forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology shows a gradual rise from 26 degrees Celsius to 36 on both Friday and Saturday.
Conditions will be mostly sunny with minimal chance of rain, which comes after an average rainfall in spring this year.
The temperature in November was also slightly higher than average: 26.2 during the day and 13 at night.
With the increased in temperatures, NSW Health reminds residents to be conscious about the associated health issues.
“Heat waves or long periods of extreme heat can have serious impacts on people's health,” the department said.
“Planning ahead and being prepared for extreme heat is important.”
Elsewhere in the Riverina, Junee’s and Temora’s temperatures are also forecast to rise gradually, reaching a maximum of 37 later in the week.
Meanwhile, Griffith and Narrandera are set to be a scorching 38 and 39, respectively.
This year is set to be the fourth warmest year on record based on the latest provisional report by the World Meteorological Organization.
In the report, Statement on the State of the Climate released on November 29, it shows that the 20 warmest years on record have been in the past 22 years and the top four in the past four years.
“We are not on track to meet climate change targets and rein in temperature increases,” WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas said.
