Runs were again hard to come by with the defence of both sides limiting the scoring of their opponent.
After two shutouts of the Warriors, Turvey Park became the first team to score when safe hits to Jade Olsen and Jane Wadley saw Amanda Gooden and Olsen cross the plate.
Their lead was short-lived however as, in the top of the third innings, the Warriors scored three runs.
Jess Swaysland was the first with a giant left field home run, then followed Jayla Nix and Montana Kearnes, both batted in by Sam O’Neil.
The next four half-innings were all scoreless before the Warriors added another single to their tally in the top of the sixth following safe hits to Kim Dennis, Carmel Hutchinson and Kristy Tenison.
A highlight of the Warriors sixth innings was the hot line drive catch by Turvey Park third-bagger, Charli Hall, off the bat of Montana Kearnes. It indoubtedly stopped more runs being scored by the Warriors, who were, consequently held to just the single.
In the bottom of the sixth a Georgina Carter three-bagger batted in Charli Hall and Jane Wadley, tying the game up at four runs apiece.
The Warriors’ seventh innings was a straight-forward ‘three up-three down”, leaving Turvey the chance to score a single and win the game.
However the Warriors defence was up to the task, dismissing Turvey without score, resulting in a 4-all draw.
For Warriors Kristy Tenison had 6 K-2s and conceded 6 hits, whilst Turvey’s pitcher Paris Hall had 4 K-2s and conceded 9 hits.
Turvey will have the bye next Saturday, whilst the Warriors will meet Saints, who had the bye on Saturday.
