The Riverina Conservatorium of Music presents a stirring performance of one of the best-loved choral works.
Marie-Cecile Henderson, the music director for the show, said it will feature the Riverina Community Strings, the Cantilena Singers, Riverina Chamber Choir, Murrumbidgee Magic and the Wagga Rugby Male Choir and six acclaimed soloists from the RCM.
“Handel’s Messiah has become a beloved Christmas tradition, it depicts Christ’s birth, passion and resurrection through timeless and inspiring music,” she said.
“We are embarking on the whole thing and that’s a big undertaking of two to three hours,” she said.
“We have been preparing for at least four months and we have been preparing separately.
“We have been rehearsing together for the last couple of weeks.”
Ms Henderson said it is a multi-faceted project that is to set to wow audiences.
“The main piece everyone will listening out for is the famous ‘Hallelujah Chorus’,” she said.
“I don’t care who you are – young or old it is thrilling.
“We are in a church which is the best place for the acoustics.”
Ms Henderson said she would encourage residents to attend to make Christmas "extra special”.
