People with disabilities in Wagga and surrounding towns will join in this year’s dance party to celebrate their achievements and abilities.
A group from 14 people from Northcott will perform at the dance part to the song welcome from the movie Moana.
Sam Mulloy is part of the group and will also be one of the MCs on the night.
“I’m excited for the dance party,” she said.
“It will be my first time going.
We get in a group and have fun, we’ll sing and dance the welcome song with the big welcome sign.”
Tracey Collins is also looking forward to the night.
“I’m excited to dance at the party,” she said.
“Today we’re practicing for the dance.”
Another dance group member, Christell Papadakis, is also looking forward to the night.
“Participation at the dance party is very important,” Regional Disability Advocacy Service training and development manager Swie Madden said.
“We coordinate the night but we want all services to be part of it.”
The group have made a large welcome sign with their hand prints on it to show the collaboration the group have had.
A steering committee, comprised of local disability services’ representatives and people with disabilities, has worked hard to ensure the success of the party and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
The Dance Party has regularly attracted between 250 to 300 people who have a disability, their families and carers.
