Wagga rugby sevens star Alicia Quirk will re-join her Australian team mates on the playing field when she runs out for round two of the Sevens World Series in Dubai on Friday, November 30, next week, alongside debutants Lily Dick and Sariah Paki.
The Olympic gold medallist was sidelined for the opening round after sustaining a knee injury during the Sevens Rugby World Cup in San Francisco.
Australian women’s sevens head coach John Manenti welcomed Quirk’s return.
“Having Alicia back is a big boost for the squad, she’s a tireless worker on the field and will bring plenty of big tournament experience to our campaign.”
Quirk recently penned a contract extension with Rugby Australia that will see her through to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Australia are set to face England, China and the USA in their Pool B round robin.
