It was a family affair for the Maidens at last week's School Sport Australia softball championships in Canberra.

Alex was part of the all-conquering NSW team that went through the tournament undefeated.
Older brother Todd was also in action, selected as a student umpire for the national event.
Alex's NSW girls 12 and under team proved too good for South Australia, Victoria, ACT and Queensland, finishing the championship with a for and against of 94-11.
The Lake Albert Public School student thoroughly enjoyed the week-long tournament.
"It was a good experience," Alex said.
"We came first and I loved playing with the girls. I didn't know any of them before but were so close by the end of it."
Alex played a number of roles for the NSW team. She batted well, while also pitching for four innings, as well as spending time at second base and in the outfield.
Her dream is to one day represent her country.
“I want to play for Australia or at the highest level I can,” Alex said.
A special moment came when Todd umpired one of Alex’s games. She gave her big brother the tick of approval.
“Everyone said he did well and called a good strike,” she said.
