The Bulldogs take on Wagga City in a Twenty20 on Friday night before taking on Kooringal Colts in the first of the two-dayers on Saturday.

With more points on the offer at Wagga Cricket Ground captain James Richards is hoping the longer format can bear fruit.

“The Saturday game is a real important one with the start of two-game cricket and six points up for grabs,” Richards said.

RSL have only won one of their first five games and sit last on the ladder.

However Kooringal and St Michaels are only two points ahead.

With the chance to get one back on Colts, Richards believes it is important his team fires.

“Saturday against Colts is a massive, massive game as they are floating around the same level as us,” he said.

“We really need to have a good day to put us on the way to a win.

“These are the games, against the teams around us, that mean more.”

With wicketkeeper Beau Wright still unavailable, the Bulldogs go into the clash with Colts unchanged from last week’s loss to Lake Albert.

However Dylan Koop won’t take on Wagga City with Dean Terlich to take his place.
