The Wagga Inter Church Council are busy preparing for the 2018 Christmas Carols in the Park after receiving financial assistance request from Wagga City Council.
Geoff Gray, event coordinator, said the event is all in the name of the Christmas spirit, providing an opportunity to celebrate the holiday in a family-friendly environment.
“It’s a group of churches coming together to present the story of the birth of Jesus,” he said.
“It brings people from all backgrounds and gives them an opportunity to share that.
“There is pre-carols performances at 6pm with the main carols kicking off at 7.30pm and there will be fun kids activities and food vendors available.”
The free event will provide an opportunity for the community to celebrate Christmas in a family-friendly environment at the Victory Memorial Gardens on 22 December.
There will be opportunities to donate with profits raised supporting scripture teachers in Wagga's schools.
