After going down in their last three matches, the premiers put on an improved performance to take a seven-wicket win at Rawlings Park Turf.
Tom Doig led the way with four wickets as the Bulldogs were bowled out for 98.
Jacson Sommerville then led the chase, finishing with an unbeaten half century as the Bulls chased down the total at the start of the 33rd over.
Robertson thought it was a much better performance.
“We changed a few things during the week and the attitude was a lot better at training,” Robertson said.
“On game day I thought we prepared a lot better than what we have been and have definitely had a bit of a shake up and things got much closer to where they need to be over the weekend.
“Hopefully we’ve turned a bit of a corner and can keep our game pretty consistent.”
With the first of the two-day clashes ahead, Robertson thought it was a timely win.
Doig impressed with the new ball as Wagga RSL struggled for to kick start their innings.
Only four Bulldogs batsmen made double figures, with Sam Perry top scoring with 20, and with seven wickets in the first two one-dayers, Robertson has been pleased with how the young paceman has stepped up after the Twenty20s.
“He’s been excellent in the last couple of weeks,” he said.
“He’s definitely enjoying the longer forms and being able to bowl a decent spell.
“He’s bowling six or so overs straight and has only been able to bowl two in the 20-over games.
“He’s definitely reaping the rewards of being able to bowl a longer spell.”
