Last weekend saw over 25 Wagga Futsal junior players trial for spots in the forthcoming Country NSW Futsal teams for the FFA National Championships to be held in Sydney from 9th until 13th January 2019.
Gray’s position also saw him involved with facilitating a new referees course in Wagga – the only course outside of metropolitan areas for 2018 – and saw 12 new referees successfully pass the two-day course held at The Riverina Anglican College.
Gray, who also holds a coaching role with the Country NSW under 15 girls, said it was very pleasing to see the number of referees for the sport growing each year, with the number of female referees increasing quickly as the girls turn their game.
"Mentoring these young referees is a real privilege ... [and] enables the sport to continually grow,” Gray said.
