Perfect weather greeted the students in their glitz and glamour and their family members.
Among the proud parents was Wes Yates, whose son, Fraser, is looking to becoming a teacher.
Asked about what the occasion meant to him as a father, Mr Yates said it was freedom for his son.
“It means it’s a big step in his life now – he’s going to think for himself,” Mr Yates said.

“I don’t have to pick him up anymore as he’s got a licence, which is brilliant.
“He wants to be a schoolteacher and he’ll be looking at CSU here in Wagga or in Canberra.”
The Kildare Catholic College formal at Victory Memorial Gardens was in conjunction with Mater Dei College.
