Food for Fines will operate across every branch of Riverina Regional Library from Monday, November 26 to Saturday, December 22.
This annual program allows library users to return outstanding library items, have any outstanding over dues fines waived, and assist the community with a donation of food. It is also a great opportunity for people to join the library while supporting the wider community.
Library members without fines can also donate non-perishable food. In Wagga, the food will be donated to the Salvation Army for distribution to vulnerable families in the region.
The post-Christmas period can be a time when many families experience financial difficulties – this is when the food collected for fines, will be distributed to families in our community.
