The reigning premiers surged in the second quarter off the back of a McMahon goal blitz to take a three-goal lead into the main break.
It proved a stretch too far for Octopuses, who eventually fell short in a 9-6 encounter.
Dolphins A2 enjoyed similar success to their senior counterparts, edging Raiders A 9-7 in a quality clash.
Ollie Cooper was the standout for Dolphins while Doug De Jong delivered another solid performance for Raiders.
The flippered fiends again took the chocolates in a B-grade sweep with Cooper again starring for Dolphins B1 in their 9-3 victory over Octopuses B2.
Dolphins B2 rounded out the job with an imperious 10-0 thrashing of Raiders B2, a young side largely depleted by post-graduation celebrations.
Raiders spokesperson Duncan Ritchie deemed the match of the round to be Raiders B1’s 6-all draw with Octopuses B1.
“It was just about as even as you can get,” Ritchie said.
“The scores were locked up in the dying seconds with a goal from Raiders’ Ben Foster to make it 6-all.
“(Raiders goalie) Chris McAuliffe had some fantastic saves late in the game that allowed his team to get back into the match.”
