O’ So Hazy is one of seven finalists for the SDRA Horse of the Year, that will be announced at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Wednesday night.
O’ So Hazy was the biggest money earner from the SDRA in the 2017-18 season, winning the Country Championship heat before going on to run third in the final at Randwick.
Spackman believes the mare deserves the title of SDRA Horse of the Year.
“I’ll be shattered if she doesn’t get it,” Spackman said.
“She deserves it.”
O’ So Hazy is up against stablemate Takookacod, Itsa Fait Accompli, Bennelong Dancer, Fermanagh Lad, Hangin’ With Willy and Man Of Peace.
Takookacod is also eligible for SDRA 3YO of the Year, where she will be up against Nothin’ Like Harry, Waiting For A Mate and Lady Mironton.
The Tim Donnelly-trained Jodhpur is the only finalist for the SDRA 2YO of the Year. Last season’s SDRA premiership winners will also be recognised on the night.
The SDRA Awards Night starts at 6.30pm in the MTC Members Lounge with free entry and complimentary food.
