Jon Nicoll’s 79 helped the side down Yass at McPherson Oval on Sunday.
Wagga City’s Harry Rosengren and Daniel Rafter were next best with 26.
Wagga were bowled out for 198 before Yass fell 18 runs short of the target.
Nicoll led the way with the ball as well claiming 4-31 off his eight overs.
Round two is against Cootamundra on December 2.
