On Saturday, 20 of the troupe performed inside the Victory Memorial Gardens.
Performing two numbers, The Princess Aurora and Lilac Fairy Dance it was a taster for their upcoming December 8 performance of Sleeping Beauty.
“For a long time, ballet has been locked away inside theatres to be sort by only a small group of people,” said event organiser Kristy De Camps.

“Out in the open, it’s a lot less controlled so it’s both exciting and nerve-wracking for the dancers. It’s also unexpected for the public, so it brings in a lot of people who may not have experienced ballet before.”
After four years operating as a dance school, the dancers are now branching into more professional avenues.
“To get into the company, it required an audition and quite a rigorous process of training,” said Ms De Camps.
“As far as I’m aware, there’s nothing quite like this outside of the metro areas, so this is really getting our dancers ready for big things.”
