The Allegro Ballet School has grown since it first opened in 2015 and is launching the Allegro Ballet Company which is offering a new opportunity for youth ballet in the Wagga area.
The Allegro Ballet School’s principal Anne Reardon said Wagga’s arts scene “has it all”.
“Having a youth ballet company in Wagga will be a very vibrant part of the arts community,” Miss Reardon said.
“We thought establishing a youth company in Wagga would give girls and boys the experience of what it would be like out in the professional world.
“I really think the arts scene in Wagga is growing, with music, dance and culture and it’s just such a beautiful centre for our young people to be able to get experience without having to go to the big cities.”
The youth ballet company will focus on providing many opportunities to young students with a love of ballet, to encourage their passion, develop their techniques, skills and abilities and help them fulfill their dreams.
Coming from a dancing background, 16-year-old Macy Milgate hopes to continue her passion in ballet.
“I have been dancing for about 10 years and growing up dancing has made me really want to pursue this further into the professional industry,” she said.
The Allegro Ballet Company will officially be launching Saturday, November 10, in the Victory Memorial Gardens in Wagga, from 5pm – 6pm, with a preview performance of The Sleeping Beauty.
Allegro Ballet Company will perform The Sleeping Beauty on December 8, at the Wagga Civic Theatre.
