On Friday, Inspector Cloake moved to Casino near Lismore after three years in Deniliquin and five at Wagga.
On Thursday, Wagga police Chief Inspector Andrew Spliet said the was “a bit of a shuffle of some of the chairs” following Inspector Cloake’s departure.
“I’ll move into the crime manager role for the Riverina and Inspector Adrian Telfer, who was our human resources and professional standards officer, will move across to the officer in charge of Wagga,” Inspector Spliet said.
“It’s definitely a win for the community and Adrian is a very capable and experienced officer and he is looking forward to the challenge.”
Inspector Telfer has represented Wagga police in press conferences on major assault and siege incidents, theft prevention programs and a firearms amnesty over the past 12 months.
