The club last weekend played host to Wagga-based, regional and interstate juniors alike in a Little Athletics carnival for the ages.
Though there hasn’t yet been enough time to take stock of the milestone event, event coordinator Stephen Cooke was pleased to report another successful installment.
“We had plenty of records broken on the day and the attendance was just fantastic,” Cooke said.
“Close to 250 kids would’ve taken part and that’s including everyone who came from Melbourne, Bendigo and the ACT as well.”
Favourable weather went a long way with Cooke left to reminisce on his own stint as a junior athlete.
“Kooringal-Wagga had only just sort of started up when I was a junior and it’s great to see it still going strong.”
“I think it’s great for the kids and it’s one of the biggest events of the calendar.”
