Darkness into Light was founded by Alok Sharma, an ophthalmologist and a member of the Rotary Club of Wagga, who wanted to fund cataract operations for people in India.
Supported by his fellow Rotarians, Dr Sharma has continued to help people not only in India, but also in East Timor and, closer to home, in the Riverina.
To help raise funds to make sure the work of Darkness into Light continues, a fundraising dinner was held on Saturday.
More than 200 people heard Wagga’s Alicia Quirk speak and enjoyed a performance by violinist Leon Fei.
Ms Quirk is an Olympic gold medallist and Women's Rugby Sevens player.
