Firefighters were run off their feet last night, after two fires were ignited in Tolland within five minutes.
Crews from Turvey Park Fire and Rescue NSW crews rushed to the reserve on Maher Street after 10.15pm to extinguish a car, engulfed in flames.
Station officer Bill McClatchie said a few minutes later, they were called to a house fire.
The firies were joined by retained staff from Wagga station, paramedics and police.
“The fire was in the front section of a vacant house,” Mr McClatchie said. “It took crews about 15 minutes to put out.”
He said officers from Riverina Police District were investigating both incidents.
