Since 1983, a team of energetic, dedicated Riverina women have donated their time and enthusiasm to the Children’s Medical Research Institute to raise around $50,000 annually for the cause.
President of the Wagga Children’s Medical Research Institute, Helen Chamberlain, said they spent most of the year preparing for the annual Christmas Fair.
“We have over 90 stalls and 20 of those are new,” she said.
“There’s a lot of amazing stalls and there really is something for everyone.
“It’s for a good cause. If we can raise money for research to help children have better healthier lives, then we’re happy to do it.”
It’s totally voluntary and all the funds go to CMRI, Ms Chamberlain said.

“The support has been amazing,” she said.
Local botanical artist Narelle Thomas encourages people to come down and check out the stalls.
“It’s great to support some local people and there are plenty of unique items,” she said.
Leanne Pooley, the owner of Unforgettable Products, travels every year from Melbourne to be a part of the fair.
Ms Pooley sells meringues and other tasty treats.
“We love the country fairs because the people are so friendly,” she said.
“People love my products because they can pop them on a plate and tell everyone they stayed up the whole night baking.
“I love coming to Wagga and I will be back next year.”
The Wagga Christmas Fair continues this Saturday, from 10am – 4pm at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
