Police had to issue arrest warrants for William Jethro Bell, 42, when he failed to appear for his trial in May.
However, on Friday, solicitor David Barron told Wagga District Court Mr Bell had been found and a new trial date could be set.
“He sent some emails about hitchhiking his way here, but he never arrived,” Mr Barron said.
“It took some time for the warrant to find him but, as they usually do, they found him.”
Mr Bell will remain in custody until his new trial date of April 1, more than a year later than his original trial.
He will face four charges at trial; armed robbery with an offensive weapon, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and two counts of drug possession.
