Robert Glover, chairman of The Male Bag Foundation, said the ride was started up to raise funds for much-needed specialist equipment and services to reduce the incidence of prostate cancer in regional Australia.
“We ride ex-Australia post motorbikes to raise money to fight against prostate cancer,” he said.
“We ride throughout the country to help rural men.”
Wagga posties Ben Robertson, Michael Taylor, Eugene Jocic, Paul Russell, Alex Ford, Ian Humphries, Kieth Turner, Matt Cairns, Kenny Edwards, Denise Dacey, Daniel Sullivan, Brett Robinson and Geoff Wilson joined the ride at Oura this morning.
Patron David Parkin said it’s quite a sight to see the whole entourage ride into town.
“I am a prostate canver survivor,” he said.
“I saw the great work they were doing and the money they were raising so I stayed with them.”
The iconic ‘Postie’ rides have raised nearly $1 million and all funds stay in regional areas.
The October 2018 Big Ride covers 2000 kilometres and passes through locations including Deniliquin, Griffith, Parkes, and Wagga.
