Gundagai is a great base or stopover for your trip to Kosciuszko National Park, or for that lazy summer week away with the family when you can explore the region or just cool down in the excellent local pool without the crowds.
Gundagai is home to the iconic Dog on the Tuckerbox, Marble Masterpiece, and stunning historical bridges and is the resting place of Captain Moonlite.
The Old Gundagai Gaol is something different and the world class narrated audio tour (available from the visitor centre) tells tales of life in Gundagai in its days as a frontier town.
Those interested in history will also enjoy the Gabriel Historic Photograph Collection, the Gundagai Museum and the Heritage Railway Station.

Must see and do
- Visit the legendary ‘Dog on the Tuckerbox’ eight kilometres north of Gundagai
- Marvel at Rusconi’s Marble Masterpiece, a miniature cathedral that was painstakingly carved from marble by a local sculptor over a period of 28 years.
- View the saddle cloth of champion racehorse Phar Lap,among the many other items of interest at the Gundagai Historical Museum.
- Take the self-guided Audio Tour of the Old Gundagai Gaol.
