The 35-year-old Tumut man was charged with malicious damage by fire, after Riverina District Police allege he intentionally caused a blaze at Broughton Street on Saturday night.
Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW 467 Station rushed to extinguish the flames, alongside other emergency services, at about 7.30pm, following calls a house was on fire.
Riverina District Police crime manager Darren Cloake said fortunately no one was injured.
