Josh Thompson’s side restricted the Colts to just 7-85 from their 20 overs with Louis Grigg (2-10 from four overs) and Jon Nicoll (2-16 from four overs) leading the way.
Max Harper (1-23 from four overs) and Dean Crane (1-22 from four overs) chipped in with the key wickets of Saxby Harrison (8) and David Bolton (9) while Thompson (0-10 from four overs) was also tidy.
Aaron Maxwell (19) then launched a handy opening-run stand with Nicoll (35 not out) before falling to Scott McLachlan and there was little Kooringal could do as Nicoll and Thompson (25 not out) guided Cats home with five overs to spare.
“Our bowling and fielding has been unreal these first three rounds, so I can’t fault the boys there,” Thompson said.
“I also think it was the fastest start we’ve had with the bat all season.”
