The four-year-old has a 100 percent success rate at Wagga, with two wins from two starts in autumn this year and the trainer said it’s an ideal race to kick off this campaign.
“He’s going alright. I gave him a quiet trial at Goulburn last week, he went nice and this race came up so it fitted the plan,” Day said.
“He’s just a nice little horse. He’s no superstar.”
That trial last Saturday was won by the Neil Day-trained Arma Hotshot, which is also headed to Wagga on Friday for the Country Series Heat (C3 to C4).
The first two placegetters in the races earn starts in the $20,000 Country Series Finals at Menangle on Saturday week.
Open to trainers based more than 100km from Sydney, the series is popular.
“Excellent. It’s good to be racing for that sort of prizemoney,” Day said.
Brad Hewitt will drive Harry Day at Wagga. Former local Cameron Hart will again be back in Wagga and will drive one of the dangers, Carramar Arapaho for trainer Chris Hughes, in the same race.
The first on the eight-race card is at 1.35pm.
