1. Fusion Festival
Wagga’s premier springtime celebration of live music, food and culture is almost here.
The Victory Memorial Gardens and Civic Centre Precinct will come to life on Saturday r for Fusion18, with a crowd of more than 10,000 visitors and locals expected.
Wagga City Council’s annual multicultural street festival will be headlined by Mama Kin Spender, Oh Mercy, Henry Wagons and Woodes, who will bring an eclectic mix of sounds and styles to a crowd of more than 10,000 people.
Food lovers will be able to devour authentic and modern street-style bites from 31 countries, making it one of the biggest and most diverse menus on offer at the festival.

2. Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr John Watson, have a new case to investigate.
Rehearsals are well underway for Wagga School of Arts Community Theatre’s production of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily, by Katie Forgette.
Swordfights, kidnapping and extortion attempts involving the royal family are all on the table.
Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily runs from October 12 to 21. Tickets can be purchased by contacting SOACT on 69212594.
3. Can Assist’s 63rd Birthday
For more than 60 years, Can Assist has worked to bring rural and regional people living with cancer the support they need.
Can Assist originated in 1955 and Margaret Dalmau, manager of Lilier Lodge, said the money that has been raised locally has stayed in the Riverina.
To fundraise and mark the occasion the organisation is hosting a Can Assist Foundation Month High Tea on October 21 from 11am at the Wagga RSL Club.
Tickets are $60 and are available at Lilier Lodge, 317 Edward Street or by contacting the Lodge on 69255240.
4. Riverina Iris Farm
The Riverina Iris Farm boasts more than 1300 tall bearded irises after starting with a humble 200 in 2013.
Now that spring has arrived, the irises are blooming, so until November 5, the farm will be open to the public.
Morning tea and afternoon tea will be available for a small donation, and money raised from this will go toward the Buy a Bale drought relief program.
The Riverina Iris Farm at 13 Sycamore Road, Lake Albert, will be open Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
Visitors can admire the blooms and also put in orders.
