The women’s program is being revived this season under Southern Inland competitions and rugby services manager, Jack Heffernan, who is eager to clear a regional pathways for female players to achieve their professional goals.
“It’s not fair to have a men’s rep side and no women’s equivalent,” Heffernan said.
“I think it’s clear that women’s rugby has a big future and this program will hopefully see some of those women get a shot at making it into a Super W squad.”

The program officially launched on Tuesday night with an induction meeting for prospective participants and training is set to commence this weekend.
“The squad’s primarily based around interest and we’ve got a growing list of around 40 names at the moment,” Heffernan said.
The program is designed to lead into a 15-a-side representative match in Canberra to determine a Brumbies squad for the upcoming Super W competition.
CSU Reddies coach Andy Bedford has been named to steer the side with Jonathon Andreou and Daniel Dowson assisting.
