In 2016 he started Green Homes Australia Wagga to offer homes which are up to six times more energy efficient than a standard home.
It’s this work which saw him awarded the Young Builder of the Year Award at the Riverina section of the Housing Industry Awards.
He wasn’t expecting the win and only entered the category as he was going to the awards night anyway so thought he “may as well give it a go.”

Daniel has been in the building industry since he was 17 and went out on his own straight after finishing his apprenticeship but it was only recently he bought into the Green Homes franchise.
"We are the only builder in the world that’s got the international accreditation ISO50001 to build green homes,” he said.
“There’s a big push at the moment with power prices going up.
“We’re seeing a lot more people coming to us who are interested in limiting their cost of living.”
Homes all come with standard energy efficient features like double glazing to windows and customers can option up to solar panels, batteries and even go off grid.
“We’re putting more solar panels and battery units on homes these days and we can go completely off grid if that’s what the customer wants to do,” Daniel said.
The biggest thrill for Daniel after starting Green Homes Australia Wagga was touching base with one of his first customers after they’d been living in their new home for around six months.
“Their comments were ‘can we get a refund on my air conditioner because I haven't had to use it?’ And it was the same with their heating,” he said.
“So that was a good thing especially for the new set up.”
