The Warriors are sure to come out with all pistons firing after their surprise loss to Turvey Park in last Saturday’s match.
They have some powerful hitters, still, in the person of Montana, Jane and Layhnee Kearnes, Sam O’Neill and Simone Jorgensen, but it was careless fielding from the Warriors which allowed Turvey to win.
Now they’ve dusted the cobwebs away, their defence should be better, spearheaded by the strong pitching of Montana Kearnes.
Saints have gained two former Kooringal players, sisters, Laura and Rochelle Harley, who will add to their strength in defence, while Rochelle was also in fine batting form before she stood out of the game for a couple of seasons.
Regular players, Gemma and Tessa McGlynn and Kadison Hofert will welcome the reunion and with Desi-Ann Calder another of the Kooringal connection, the Saints should start positively.
The Saints always performed most competitively against the Warriors and with the chance of inflicting defeat on the Warriors for a second time in as many games, a good game of softball should ensue.
