Steven Michael Wiggett, 44, pleaded guilty to the single charge after police came to revoke his parole on August 18 when he breached his conditions.
Wiggett agreed that his actions were “stupid” and “dumb” when magistrate Alexander Mijovich pointed out that he was so close to finishing his sentence.
“It was a pretty dumb reaction to the police showing up – 17 days and you would’ve been out on September 2, yet here we are in the middle of October and you’re still in custody,” Mr Mijovich said.
“‘Yes sir, no sir’, and you would’ve already been out six weeks ago.”
Instead, Wiggett will remain in custody until November 2 after he had his two months’ jail backdated to September 3.
