The five-year-old mare was starring down the barrel at defeat rounding the home turn only to find a second wind and claim the Mark Crutcher Racing C1 Pace (1755m).
After moving to outside the leader mid-race, Ellen Louise ($5.00) appeared to be losing ground around the final turn before getting going again to score by five metres.
Ellen Bartley was the winning drive and it was Ellen Louise’s first win since September last year.
It gave Cooper a double after To Alaska ($1.65) scored a commanding 20-metre win in the TAB C1 Pace (1755m) earlier in the day.
To Alaska provided Blake Jones with the second leg of a winning double after winning on Seattle Trace ($5.50).
