1. Relay for Life
Relay for Life is one of the biggest events on Wagga’s charity calendar and it’s sooner than you may think.
Wagga averages about 100 teams in the 24-hour annual relay, with participant numbers reaching 2000.
This year, Wagga’s Relay has a fundraising goal of $160,000.
Money raised from Wagga Relay For Life goes towards helping local patients, particularly those who need financial assistance, transport to treatment and accommodation when receiving treatment
It is not too late to sign up for the 2018 Relay for Life.

2. Riverina Iris Farm Open Day
The Riverina Iris Farm boasts more than 1300 tall bearded irises after starting with a humble 200 in 2013.
Now that spring has arrived, the irises are blooming, so until November 5, the farm will be open to the public.
Morning tea and afternoon tea will be available for a small donation, and money raised from this will go toward the Buy a Bale drought relief program.
The Riverina Iris Farm at 13 Sycamore Road, Lake Albert, will be open Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
Visitors can admire the blooms and also put in orders.
3. Devour
Wagga, it is time to feast your way through the month of October.
Festival season has started with a bang and Devour is well underway, putting the focus on fresh flavours of locally harvested and homemade produce.
From high teas to pasta nights and flower workshops to cooking classes, there is plenty to get you out and enjoying the spring weather.
4. Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr John Watson, have a new case to investigate.
Rehearsals are well underway for Wagga School of Arts Community Theatre’s production of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily, by Katie Forgette.
Swordfights, kidnapping and extortion attempts involving the royal family are all on the table.
Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily runs from October 12 to 21. Tickets can be purchased by contacting SOACT on 69212594.
5. Wagga Classic Car Show and Shine
The Wagga Classic Car Show and Shine is back again in 2018 at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
The event is organised by the Riverina Monaro’s and Holden Car Club, all makes are welcome including motorcycles with proceeds being donated to the local charity of Riding for the Disabled Association.
When: Sunday October 14 from 10am to 2pm.
