Cunningham capped off a top season by being presented the Swans’ Best Clubman Award last Friday night.
The club recognised Cunningham’s fine season as well as his work as ambassador for kids’ cancer charity, Redkite, along with his involvement with club sponsors and events.
“It was an absolute honour and I’m humbled to receive the award. I’m grateful to be able to play for such a great club and be able to do what I do,” Cunningham said.
“Family and friends have been massive with support throughout the journey and have made me who I am today so I’m very thankful for what they do.”
Cunningham finished 10th in the Swans’ Club Champion award.
He polled 331 votes to be right among the club’s big names. Jake Lloyd won the best and fairest ahead of Luke Parker and Lance Franklin.
Cunningham, a Turvey Park product, enjoyed one of his most consistent seasons and played all 23 of the Swans’ games for the season.
He averaged a career-high 18 possessions a game and enjoyed his 100th AFL appearance in the Swans’ win over Collingwood in round 20.
Cunningham also had a career-high 27 possessions against Hawthorn in round eight.
