Outside Bunnings on Wednesday, more than 2136 people in high-vis vests are going to be needed to snatch the Guinness Book of World Records title from its current holders in Japan.
The record-breaking attempt is being held on World Mental Health Day, which has been themed “Do You See What I See” and behind the light-hearted fun is an attempt to raise awareness of mental health, particularly in young men.
It is also an opportunity for tradies, farmers, emergency workers, families and supporters, to get together in a fun way to talk about a serious issue, according to Mental Health Australia CEO Frank Quinlan.
If you do not own a high-vis vest, don’t worry. Vests will be provided.
Registrations will open at 7am, and there will be activities including a tradie yoga session ahead of the official record-breaking attempt at 8.30am.
