Wagga City Wanderers juniors had a healthy representation in the Riverina sides that competed at Valentines Park last week with 12 players taking to the field across three divisions.
Under 12s trio Perri Nash, Amelia Walker and Kate Foley took part in the Riverina girls’ campaign while Joshua Surian, Alex Ballard, Cooper Gilham featured heavily in the under 12 Riverina boys side.
Recently announced Wanderers under 17 women’s coach Sam Gray assisted the boys during their weekend and was impressed by what he saw.
“I think all the players ended up going really well. There was probably a bit of instability on the first day but they really improved throughout the tournament,” Gray said.
“I thought Joshua was fantastic and Alex and Cooper had really good performances as well.”
The under 14s girls finished in equal fourth place and were crowned Country Champions.
