A Henty man who was convicted of negligent driving occasioning death has lodged an appeal against the severity of his sentence in Wagga District Court.

Bruce Ernest Springall, 62, was found guilty of having negligently driven a Kenworth prime mover on April 4 last year, resulting in the death of another person.
The incident occurred on the Sturt Highway about 1.75 kilometres west of Gillenbah.
He originally pleaded not guilty, but was later convicted by a magistrate when his case proceeded to hearing.
Springall was later sentenced to eight months’ home detention on July 16 this year with a non-parole period of four months.
He also had his licence disqualified for a two-and-a-half year period.
Springall is set to return to the District Court on October 11 to appeal against the severity of his sentence.
