Operation Slowdown, a statewide campaign by the NSW Police Force, will start at 12.01am on Friday, September 28 and concludes at 23.59pm on Monday, October 1.
During the period, double demerits will be in force for speeding, seat-belt, mobile phone and motorcycle helmet offences.
Last year, 392 lives were lost on NSW roads. In the same period, there were 12,055 serious injuries.
This weekend in Wagga, major events include the Wollundry Rotary’s fifth Gears and Beers Festival and the Picnic Races at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.
